FuJian Province faces the East & South China Seas, sandwiched between GuangDong to the south, JiangXi in the west and ZheJiang to the north. Its total main land area is 121,400 Square Kilometers (46,872 Square Miles) plus some 1,400 odd islands off shore.
FuJian China has a population of over 35 million with the She minority the only major minority living in the mountainous regions to the north, and lesser minorities of Hui, Manchu, & GaoShan scattered throughout the province.
FuJian is renowned for its mountains (WuYi Shan), Buddhist shrines/temples (NanPuTuo Temple), XiaMen (GuLangYu Island) and producing some of the best teas in China - FuJian Oolong Tea is a must try – other varieties include WuYiYan Cha and FuZhou Jasmine Green Tea.
FuZhou (Foochow) is the capital of FuJian; with other major towns been XiaMen, QuanZhou, PuTian, NingDe, NanPing, SanMing, LongYan and ZhangZhou.
