GuiZhou Province covers an area of 176,000 Square Kilometers (67,953 Square Miles) of which 65% are mountains & plateaus and the rest made up of low infertile plains. GuiZhou’s topography is both rugged and spectacular with its karst hills & jagged peaks, waterfalls, underground rivers, lush valleys, and terraced rice fields (the most impressive been in Southeast GuiZhou in TangAn).
With a population of about 35 million - 65% “Han Chinese” & 35% minorities including the Miao, Bouyei, Dong, Yi, Shui, Hui, Gelao, Zhuang, Yao, Bai, Tujia. Thus giving GuiZhou that rich & diverse mixture of historical & cultural heritage found no where else in China.
The 2 most famous things from GuiZhou is its famous MaoTai Liquor made from rice and the HuangGuoShu (Yellow Fruit Tree) Waterfall, China’s largest, falling 74 meters and 81 meters wide.
GuiZhou is one of the least developed provinces in China, to the north is SiChuan & ChongQing, east is HuNan, south GuangXi and west lies YunNan. With the Capital GuiYang situated pretty much in the center of the province, some of its major towns been ZunYi, AnShun, DuYun, KaLi, and LiuPenShui.
