HeBei Province only fame is that it completely surrounds 2 of China’s powerful Municipalities - BeiJing and TianJin – with a little bit of HeBei Province wedged “floating” between them both. Covering an area of 190,000 Square Kilometers (73,359 Square Miles), with a coastline 487 km fronting the BoHai Sea, HeBei Province borders Inner Mongolia to the north, LiaoNing to the northeast, ShanDong to the southeast, HeNan to the south, and ShanXi to the west.
HeBei Province has a population of over 68 million. Its capital is ShiJaZhuang, other major cities are BaoDing, HuaLai, ZhangJiaKou, ChengDe, QinHuangDao, TangShan, CangZhou, HengShui, XingTai and HanDan.
For tourism HeBei Province has the ShanHaiGuan (ShanHai Pass) near QinHuangDao part of the Great Wall that touches the east coast, near by also is the BeiDaiHe beach resort a popular weekend getaway for BeiJingers. Then there's the ChengDe Tibetan Buddhist & Han Chinese temples built between 1703 and 1792. And The Qing Dynasty imperial tombs at ZunHua and YiXiAn.
