NanJing (or NanKing), WuXi, SuZhou and the Grand Canal are the names most associated with JiangSu Province lesser explored are the towns and villages around TaiHu (Tai Hu Lake).
Like the little ancient villages of TongLi & GuoXiang on the east side and on the west, 2000 year old pottery towns around YiXing (most famous been DingShan for its ‘ZiSha’ - purple clay - teapots just 20 minutes south of YiXing) with some of the best examples of karst caves (ShanJuan, LingGu & ZhangGong Caves) close by.
All this and more all within easy reach from ShangHai or HangZhou.
Other prominent cities in JiangSu are YangZhou (for dumplings & cakes) and ZhenJiang (for pickles & prize vinegar).
JiangSu Province covers 100,000 Square Kilometers (38,600 Square Miles), a population of 75.5 million and has for its neighbours, ShangHai, ZheJiang, in the south, AnHui to the west and ShanDong in the north.
