Today Macau still survives on its one main industry, gambling (began in 1847) or rather casinos and accordingly labeled as the “Las Vegas” of Asia.
With a booming gaming industry, highly developed transport hub within easy access to Hong Kong, GuangZhou & ShenZhen plus lower landing fees, Macau International Airport and is already positioning itself as a low-cost gate way to the rest of Asia.
With many of Asia’s budget carriers such as Air Asia, Viva Macau, Tiger Airways basing themselves in Macau instead of Hong Kong.
