SiChuan is renowned for its “fiery” SiChuan cuisine (very spicy and pungent flavors), two of the most popular been Mapo Doufu and its “red-hot-chilly hot-pot” dishes (combinations of vegetables & meat in a red fiery/spicy/chilly soup).
In area SiChuan Province totals 485,000 Square Kilometers (187,000 Square Miles - 5.1% of China's land mass) and is home to over 87 million people, mainly Han Chinese, ethnic minorities include the Bai, BouYei, Dai, Hui, LiSu, Manchu, Miao, Mongolian, Naxi, Qiang, Tibetan, TuJia and Yi.
At its center, ChengDu the provincial capital, it’s easy to reach all the popular spots in SiChuan Province from HuangLong, JiuZhaiGou (near SongPan), Emei Shan & LeShan Giant Buddha, QinCheng Mtns and the DuJiangYan Ancient Irrigation System (56 km west of ChengDu) and not to mention Sichuan's Giant Panda Sanctuaries.
Surrounding SiChuan to the north there’s QingHai, GanSu & ShaanXi, east is ChongQing, south there’s GuiZhou & YunNan, and west to Tibet (XiZang).
